A team of more than 200 Be Caring professionals delivers around 7,000 hours of care weekly across Newcastle and surrounding area. As the demand for care changes frequently it means that we are always recruiting. We are looking for genuine like-minded people, who share our values, to join our team.

Home Care Services

Be Caring has 80 home care assistants delivering over 2,000 hours of home care every week across Newcastle upon Tyne. Also covering North Tyneside, we strive to offer bespoke and person-centred care.

Home Care Services in Newcastle

Personal care, including intimate care with dignity
Medication management
Moving and positioning, including use of equipment
Assistance with preparation of meals/drinks
Sitting service
Enabling people to access the local community
Assistance with domestic tasks, including laundry, cleaning and shopping

Complex Care

The complex and palliative care team delivers over 4,500 hours of personalised care every week across Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead and South Tyneside. Complex and palliative care requires dedication, commitment and a genuine will to make a difference. The goal is to make sure our customers’ needs are met, where they feel most comfortable, within their own homes. We aim to deliver the highest standard of care services in Newcastle, that we can be proud to say we have been a part of. As a social enterprise, owned by our colleagues, we choose to put people before profits.

Complex Care Explained

Nutritional needs via PEG
Bowel care
Tracheostomy care
Spinal injury associated care
Ventilation needs
Assistance with suction
Acquired brain injury (ABI) associated needs
Support with epilepsy including rescue medication administration
Dealing with autonomic dysreflexia (AD) attacks
Complex moving and positioning, including the use of equipment
Supporting our service users to access the local community, through college, support and hobbies
One to one support for residents within care homes
Personal care, including intimate care with dignity
Administration/prompting of medication
Preparation of meals/drinks

Palliative Care

The palliative care assistant service is designed to reduce and relieve symptoms of cancer and its treatment. Firstly we offer support for dealing with pain.  Secondly, we help deal with anxieties and worries concerning symptoms and treatment. The goal is for our clients to remain as content and comfortable as possible.

Palliative Care Explained

Emotional and social support

Pain monitoring
Pressure care
Mouth care
Preparation of meals/drinks
Moving and positioning, including use of equipment
Helping families making arrangements
Liaising with health care professionals and families 
Adhering to and respecting religious beliefs and preferences

Training and Support

It’s our our mission to become community-warriors and smile-givers. Firstly, we need people with a genuine will to care for others. Secondly, you must have an understanding of putting others’ needs before your own. Our training and support develops knowledge, understanding and skills.  Resulting in the lives of those we support becoming the best they can be.

Be Caring Training and Support

5 day induction
At least 16 hours shadowing a fully trained colleague
Regular update training
Constant access to support whilst at work, with access to an out of hours line for any concerns they may have
Access to apprenticeship/diploma qualifications
Specific training around your service users’ medical needs
Additional training in relation to the role

Independent Supported Living – LIFE

Living Independently for Everyone (LIFE) is a flagship service in Newcastle. We’re dedicated to supporting adults with learning difficulties and physical and mental disabilities. Find out more here

Hospital to Home

We also run a home from hospital service within Newcastle upon Tyne. We have a 400 hour contract with Newcastle City Council to assist with safe hospital discharge. An incredibly varied and fulfilling service involving the support of service users to regain their independence after illness, in all areas of their lives.

Day to day coordination of the department is overseen by Michelle, Emma & Kelly our Service Care Coordinators who ensure that we are providing quality care to our customers.
