LIFE by Be Caring – Independent Supported Living
LIFE by Be Caring is an independent supported living service in Newcastle. In particular it’s tailored towards people with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
Most importantly, it’s our aim to enable everyone who we support to achieve their potential and lead a fulfilled life.
LIFE by Be Caring offers three different services, each with person-centred care plans. Consequently, our combination of independent supported living care is always unique. Therefore, the life-goals of those who we support at LIFE are the focus of what we do. So, we never let physical or mental health challenges limit possibilities.
It takes dedication and commitment to be a support-worker in an Independent Supported Living setting. However, it’s a rewarding career choice and you have the opportunity to make magic happen every day. It’s our goal to enable adults who face mental and physical challenges to actively participate in their hobbies and interests.
Outreach Services in the Community
We provide outreach services across Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside. Meaning that we’re enabling people to continue participating within their community. As a result, learning or physical disabilities, and mental health problems, aren’t limitations.
Outreach support workers assist people to pursue their interests. We could attend work placements, help with educational courses or even go on holiday for instance. Being active participants in their local community is hugely important to our clients.
Independent Supported Living (ISL)
LIFE by Be Caring supports 15 people with learning disabilities and autism across Newcastle upon Tyne. We have nine Independent Supported Living (ISL) colleagues who specialise in the unique care-needs of our customers. As a result, each service is completely bespoke. For example, one client even has regular ‘come dine with me’ events, pamper parties and movie nights!
Allendale Court - Residential Care
Allendale Court opened in October 2018 as a purpose-built advanced assisted living scheme. It’s indented purpose is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young adults with autism and learning disabilities. Usually residents come to Allendale from a residential care setting after receiving a two-year license mainly to learn life skills. However, we also support them to build self-confidence and aspirations. Following successful completion of the two-year license, each individual is re-assessed. Mostly at this point they may move into the community with their own tenancy.
In addition, we offer all our staff high quality training to be the best they can be. We ensure they are providing high quality support to the person they are assisting.
