Business Development and Tendering Officer

Key Information

Location: The Business Development and Tendering Officer will be home-based, located in West Yorkshire with travel to all our services across the north of England.
[Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle]

Hours: Part-time or full-time; between 22.5 – 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £20-23k (pro rata) depending on experience

The successful candidate will take on the role of Business Development and Tendering Officer, working alongside the Head of Business Development and other colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who may be new to business development or is looking to take on a new role. There will be opportunities for progression, following an agreed training and development plan that reflects the current role, future business opportunities and individual ambitions.

Role Objective

To support the Head of Business Development to manage Be Caring’s income pipeline in support of business growth and innovation.

Job Description

The Business Development and Tendering Officer will;

Analyse opportunities, review documentation, gain colleague input including financial analysis, and construct Bid/No Bid reports

Effectively plan activities against the bid process to meet key milestones and deadlines.

Co-ordinate bids from early market engagement through Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and Invitation to Tender (ITT)

Maintain bid assets such as; bid bank, case studies

Use tools to report internally against our income pipeline e.g. opportunity tracker

Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues, set expectations, communicate deadlines and ensure full engagement in the opportunity.

Store, organise and maintain tender and contract documentation

Manage access to and communication through tender portals

Conduct lessons learned review against all bid submissions

Identify and implement improvements in our bid management processes and tools

Knowledge and Skills Required for the role

Project manage, with a proven ability to understand business processes and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal skills, adapting communication styles to the audience
Proven ability to think quickly, act on own initiative and problem solve
Ability to analyse information from multiple sources and make recommendations
Ability to think strategically
