Summary

LIFE by Be Caring are currently looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Support Workers to work at our Shared Living Complex in the West Denton area of Newcastle.

Our Shared Living service provides adults with Learning Disabilities with a two year licence to reside at the complex. The aim of the service is to support our service users to develop their life skills and independence, preparing them for a the time when they move on from our care.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who has a genuine passion for care and a drive to see others achieve great things to join our team.

Additions

LIFE by Be Caring offer Full Time and Part Time contracted hours within our Shared Living service.
Enhanced rates of paid on Bank Holidays.
Paid five day induction program
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to work weekends, you will however receive one full weekend off work each month.

Eligibility Required

Full advanced DBS check will be completed and paid for by Be Caring Ltd.

Experience Required

Previous experience working within the social care sector, especially Learning Disabilities would be an advantage. This is however not essential as full training will be provided on commencement of employment.

The Role

Your role as a Support Worker for LIFE by Be Caring will include the following:

Provision of personal care tasks, including intimate care that should at all times be delivered with dignity and respect.
Moving and positioning, including the use of hoisting equipment.
Providing emotional support.
Enabling access to the community, supporting individuals to attend clubs, events etc.
Support to attend work placements.
Support and guidance to maintain financial stability, including paying bills and managing daily correspondence.

Support

If you are successful in appointment of this position you will have the opportunity to complete:

Five days induction training
Care certificate
At least 16 hours shadowing an experienced member of the team
Positive Behavioural Support training (PBS)
Apprenticeship/diploma in care
Any additional training required for your role
