LIFE by Be Caring is looking to recruit learning disabilities support workers to join our outreach services within the Newcastle area.
You will provide tailored person-centred support within the local community, support which is meaningful and meets the health and wellbeing needs of our customers. The support you provide will be enable our customers to live happy and fulfilled lives.
Vacancies: Full or Part Time
Salary: £8.95 per hour
Hours: Various shifts around the need of the service, weekend working required (alternate weekends)
Paid holidays and bank holidays
Under 25s - your hourly rate will be no different from the rate stated below
Mileage paid at 40p per mile for drivers
Full enhanced DBS police check paid for and carried out by Be Caring, any offer of employment is subject to the information gathered at this time

As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you will be kind and compassionate, building caring and supportive relationships with the people you support and their families. You will be integral in the implementation of daily activities within the service. You will work closely with your fellow colleague to identify the interests and hobbies of our customers.
As a Support Worker, you will:
Maximise people’s independence through enabling approaches
Build care and support networks for individuals, involving family and friends
Identify opportunities to connect people to their local community
As an organisation, we are looking for people who can work independently and as part of a team. You will be empowered to make decisions that improve the lives of people we support. We need people with strong communication skills, sharing information and responding quickly.
Typical care and support tasks within a care plan include:
Personal care, including intimate care when required
Administration/prompting of medication when required
Preparation of meals/drinks
Completion of domestic tasks, including laundry, cleaning and shopping
Access to/attendance at community groups and activities

Induction training (paid)
Care Certificate (completed over a 12-week period)
Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification (fully funded after six-month probation period)
