Experienced care workers needed to join our Tyneside branch as Senior Home Care Support Workers. Successful candidates will provide support to our customers within the Newcastle and North Tyneside areas.

You will provide person-centred care, which promotes independence through enabling approaches and connecting people to local groups and services.

Set shift patterns provided however the customers you support will vary and no day will be the same. This will enable you to get meet many people across Tyneside and enhance the quality of the care we provide.

Vacancy: Full Time
Rate of Pay: £9.75p/hr
Mileage: 40p p/mile
Split Shift Working: 7:00am-2:00pm & 4:00pm-10:00pm (undertaking both shifts on the days you are working)
Shifts: Week1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday (52hrs per week) / Week2 - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (39hrs per week)
Training and Learning: paid induction, care certificate, level 2 & 3 in health and social care
Other benefits: paid DBS, gift vouchers for birthdays and Christmas, refer a friend scheme


Mileage paid at 40p per mile

Eligibility Required

Driving licence with access to own vehicle for work purposes

Experience Required

Previous experience working within the adult social care sector is essential when being considered for this role.

The Role

As a Senior Home Care Support Worker you will spend your time out in the community visiting our service users and ensuring they are well looked after, safe and happy. The type of care and support that we offer varies depending on each service user’s individual needs and their care package.

All of our customers have a care plan in place however, please see below a list of potential tasks that you may be expected to carry out:

Assisting with personal care, that may or may not include provision of intimate care with dignity
Administration/prompting of medication
Preparation of meals/drinks
Assisting with the completion of domestic tasks, including laundry, cleaning and shopping
Supporting people to remain independent within the community and their own homes

If you are studying towards a qualification in Social Care, Nursing or Health Care this role could provide you with paid-for practical experience. We can provide you with community-based insight to align with your studies.

  • Induction includes a minimum of; 3 x half day classroom based sessions, 14 online learning units and shadowing care calls. As an employee-owned organisation, we pay everyone for successfully completing their induction.
  • We will ask you about your availability at interview to discuss a potential working pattern that meets the needs of the service and the people we support.

    Typically, we ask people to work a mixture of evenings and weekends, for example; alternate weekends, and 2 evenings per week. If you have applied for a weekend only job, then we will expect that you will be available to work weekends.
  • The majority of our colleagues tend to work on early and late shifts, some colleagues work full days.

    EARLY shifts tend to be from 7:00am to 2:00pm and LATE shifts tend to be from 3:00pm to 10:00pm
