Summary

LIFE by Be Caring is looking to recruit an experienced care professional to join our small team of support workers providing support to a gentlemen living within the Gosforth area of Newcastle.

You will be part of an integral team providing tailored person centred care and support which is both meaningful and wellbeing focused.

We request that all applicants who apply for this role has at least 12 months experience working within the adult social care sector

Vacancy: 1 x Full Time Role
Salary: £8.95 p/hr
Shifts: Various shift patterns, 24hrs shifts including overnight sleeps
Weekend working on a rota basis
Paid holidays and bank holidays
Under 25s - your hourly rate will be no different from the rate stated
Training and Learning: paid induction, care certificate, level 2 & 3 in health and social care
Other benefits: paid DBS, gift vouchers for birthdays and Christmas, refer a friend scheme

Eligibility Required

Full enhanced DBS check will be carried out by Be Caring Limited any offer of employment is subject to the information gathered at this time.

Experience Required

Previous experience working in a similar role with at least 12 months experience working within adult social care.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will spend you time supporting our customers within the community ensuring they are looked after, safe and happy. The type of care and support that we offer varies depending on each customers individual needs. You will be required to provide care and support to people in their homes according to personalised support plans to help maintain their independence and dignity.

You will be supported by the Team Manager, Coordination team and in-house trainer, to ensure you have skills and resources needed in this role. You'll also have opportunities to further develop your skills and achieve formal qualifications in Health and Social Care as you progress.

All our customers have personalised Support Plans in place for you to adhere to, however, please see below a list of potential tasks that you may be expected to carry out:

Assisting with personal care, including intimate care with dignity
Administration/prompting of medication
Assisting with the preparation of meals/drinks
Assisting with the completion of domestic tasks, including laundry, cleaning and shopping
Assisting people to remain independent within the community

  • Induction includes a minimum of; 3 x half day classroom based sessions, 14 online learning units and shadowing care calls. As an employee-owned organisation, we pay everyone for successfully completing their induction.
  • We will ask you about your availability at interview to discuss a potential working pattern that meets the needs of the service and the people we support.

    Typically, we ask people to work a mixture of evenings and weekends, for example; alternate weekends, and 2 evenings per week. If you have applied for a weekend only job, then we will expect that you will be available to work weekends.
  • The majority of our colleagues tend to work on early and late shifts, some colleagues work full days.

    EARLY shifts tend to be from 7:00am to 2:00pm and LATE shifts tend to be from 3:00pm to 10:00pm
